Eve S. Mosher explores the effects of time and the complex relationships
between man and nature. By merging natural forms with manmade techniques and
resources, she creates installations and sculptural forms. Mosher completed
her art education at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and her work
has been exhibited on a national and international scale.
Artist Statement:
For over ten years, I have explored the beauty of nature and the boundaries between the
built and natural environment in my artwork. I create tactile works - sculptures, drawings
and installations that are meant to surprise and inform the viewer. Frequently they are
based on the geometry of nature - viral, somatic, organic forms.
I approach materials with the curiosity and interest in discovery of a scientist
exploring new methods. I am constantly learning new methods and enjoy playing with a
mix of traditional and non-traditional environments to create physically appealing
(and sometimes repellent) works.
Recent projects have moved out of the gallery space into the public realm.
I am interested in relating to people within their community and creating works
that explore culture and environment. For my latest project, High Water Line,
I have received grants from New York State Arts Council and the Division of ]
Cultural Affairs and sponsorship from New York Foundation for the Arts.
